How to Bring Us Your Harvest
Field dress your deer as soon as possible and as cleanly as possible. Be careful to remove all organs and guts without breaking them open, as this will contaminate the meat. Try your best to keep the inner cavity of the deer free of dirt and leaves on your way out of the woods, use a game cart or sled if you can. If you’re unable to keep the inside of the deer clean, lightly rinse the cavity with clean potable water. Drain it, and dry it with clean paper towels, wiping out any excess water. Its never a bad idea to put a bag of ice into the deer’s chest cavity to quicken the cooling process.
ANY DEER THAT IS BROUGHT TO US THAT IS UNFIT FOR YOUR CONSUMPTION (at the judgement of the butchers) WILL BE DISPOSED OF.
We wouldn’t give you back anything we wouldn’t eat ourselves!
